Ten things to do on the Gold Coast.

Burleigh Heads

The Gold Coast’s quintessential calm water spot, where Tallebudgera Creek feeds out to the Coral Sea and the clear blue water of the creek is calm and inviting. Swim, paddleboard, kayak or picnic. For an even more private section of the creek, head over to the Burleigh Heads National Park side.

Mount Tamborine

A drive up the mountain is a great day out and will feel more country than coast, with the choice of hinterland hikes for all abilities, such as Cedar Creek Falls track or the more advanced Witches Falls and Sandy Creek Circuits. Otherwise stay in the village which is full of antiques, artworks, cafes and boutique shopping.

Beach Day

The brilliant beaches are why it’s called the Gold Coast. And there are several to choose from. Pack your towel, sunscreen, flippers (and a board if you’ve got one) and head for Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Nobby Beach or Mermaid Beach.

Bike Ride & BBQ

Hire a bike and explore the neighbourhood before cooling off at the beach. Then relax with friends or family at one the countless free BBQ areas around the Gold Coast.

Paddleboarding

This is one of the most rewarding water activities in terms of fitness and fun. It’s great to do socially and always puts your core strength and balance to the test.

Kayak & Picnic

The Gold coast is known for its beautiful beaches and bays, so hire a kayak and explore it by water. There are plenty of places to finish with a picnic and a nice cold beer.

Markets & art galleries

Grab a coffee and enjoy some culture. From unique shops to local markets to the latest exhibition at the Gold Coast City Gallery. There are over 20 local, national and international exhibitions every year.

Wine & Dine

Welcome to Food & Wine Buff’s Paradise. Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach, Nobby Beach, Currumbin Estuary, Rainbow Bay and Coolangatta have countless dining and drinking hotspots.

Currumbin Rock Pools

The beach isn’t the only place to cool off. What used to be a secret spot for locals’, is now a popular and quite stunning hinterland waterhole. Enjoy a dip, a picnic and a blissful nap in the shade.

Whale Watching

There are plenty of local whale watching groups with which you can experience the world’s most amazing passing traffic. Witnessing these gentle giants as they migrate up and down the coast, is something you’ll remember forever.
