1. Burleigh Heads
National Park

The Gold Coast’s quintessential calm water spot, where Tallebudgera Creek feeds out to the Coral Sea and the clear blue water of the creek is calm and inviting.

With a small beach and plenty of shade, you can swim, paddleboard, kayak or picnic. For an even more private section of the creek, head over to the Burleigh Heads National Park side.

2. Mount Tamborine

A drive to this mountain village is a great day out and will feel more country than coast, with the choice of hinterland hikes for all abilities, such as Cedar Creek Falls track or the more advanced Witches Falls and Sandy Creek Circuits.

But, if you’re after more of a village vibe and a spot of shopping, hit the town where you’ll find antiques, artworks, cafes and boutique shopping.

3. Beach day

A visit to the beach while on the Gold Coast is a must! And there are several to choose from.

Grab your towels and sunscreen and visit Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Nobby Beach or Mermaid Beach. For something a little more adventurous, go scuba diving.

If t he beach isn’t really your thing but you still want a spot to cool off, try out the Currumbin Rock Pools. What used to be a secret spot only the locals knew about, is now a happening hinterland waterhole. Go with friends, pack a picnic, cool off in the natural pools or take a nap in the shade.
